Images from our world

A small farmstead between stone, sea, and tradition.

Our farm

We are a small production enterprise from the Karst region of Trieste. Through our work and our passion for this land, we

Every product tells a story of a landscape made of stone, wind, sea, vineyards, vegetable gardens and small agricultural gestures. Ours is not an industrial production: it is a niche production, limited in quantity and deeply tied to the place from which it originates.

Local raw materials, limited processing, and sales tied to the region are the elements that make our products recognisable and allow us to offer an authentic experience of Carso di Duino Aurisina-Devin Nabrežina.

Agricultural identity

Small productions, a strong connection to the land.

Regional project

Small Local Productions FVG

Our farm is participating in the "Piccole Produzioni Locali FVG" (Small Local Productions FVG) project, promoted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region to support safe, local productions proportionate to the size of small businesses.

Niche productions

Local products, limited quantities

Our products are distinguished by the local origin of their raw materials, by limits on the quantities processed, and by a sales area tied to the region. It is this contained scale that makes them closer, more recognisable, and more authentic.

Osmiza Boris

A family tradition

The current owner of Osmiza Boris is Boris Pernarcic. However, the family's history began in the seventies with his father, Federico, nicknamed Mirko. The osmiza has remained a place of welcome, meeting, and agricultural continuity.

Social role

A meeting place

The 'osmiza' allows farming families to supplement their income and reinvest in land and infrastructure. But it also has a social value: it is a meeting point for local residents and for those seeking genuine contact with the land.

Osmiza Boris

An ancient word, eight days, a tradition still alive.

The name osmiza derives from “osem”, which in Slovene means "eight". In the past, osmize could remain open for eight consecutive days to sell farm products. Today, this tradition continues as a local experience: simple, convivial, and close to village life.

At Osmiza Boris, you'll find agricultural produce, Karst wines, cured meats, cheeses, preserves, homemade sweets, and the pleasure of sitting down to eat without rush.

What can be found at the osmiza

The cured meats are traditional, with hams hanging in the stone-built cellar. Alongside these are pickled vegetables and oil-cured vegetables produced on the farm, cheeses, seasonal vegetables, and homemade desserts, prepared according to availability and the owners' inspiration.

Among the local white wines are Vitovska and Malvasia, some of which are also bottled. For those who prefer red, the go-to is Terrano, a wine deeply linked to the red soil and the identity of the Karst.

When the owner is also registered as an agricultural entrepreneur, the traditional offering of an osmiza can be enriched with products from other farms in the Municipality. In Boris's case, the cheese comes from his cousin in Visogliano.

Flavours of the Karst

Products to taste and take home

Cured meats, cheeses and preserves

Traditional cured meats, cheeses, seasonal vegetables, pickles and preserved vegetables tell the story of osmiza cuisine: simple, direct flavours, tied to the land and local agricultural production.

Carso wines

Vitovska, Malvasia and Terrano accompany the dishes served at an *osmiza* and tell of the character of the Karst region: mineral, essential, dry, deeply connected to the landscape.

Honey and seasonal products

Before leaving, you can buy honey produced on the Karst by Patrizia, seasonal vegetables, sausages, wine vinegar and, coming soon, olive oil.

Farmhouse aperitif

A fresh way to experience an osmiza.

To renew the offering without losing the link with tradition, Boris Pernarcic has introduced the "aperitivo agricolo" (agricultural aperitif): a proposal designed particularly for those returning from the sea during the summer wanting a simple, local, and convivial moment.

A glass of Vitovska, a bruschetta with melted cheese, a sauce with cucumbers, oil, chilli, tomato and basil, and a prosciutto and melon skewer: small, rustic flavours to tell the story of a Karst summer.

Come and discover the flavours of the Karst.

The Boris farm and Osmiza are an invitation to get to know Medeazza, Duino Aurisina-Devin Nabrežina and the Trieste Karst through local produce, regional wines and a welcoming, family atmosphere.
